CRUD = Create/Read/Update/Delete
Wow, it has been over 7 weeks since my last post. I guess time just go away from me.
Anyway, this week's release is a beta/preview of the SQL CRUD Generator that will allow developers to create simple tables for SQL Server, in addition to common stored procedures that accompany them (Create/Read/Update/Delete).

First Post!
For all you developers out there, here is a new feature of this website: the code blog.
Featuring code snippets and sometimes code libraries, here is the first post: How to load classes implemeting a specific interface from a DLL using VB.Net.
The code in the code snippet above will load a Generic List of [Your Interface] with an instance of every class implementing [Your Interface].
To make the code work, replace each [Your Interface] with the name of your interface (obviously), and you will also need to replace [FileName] with the URI of the DLL you wish to load from.
Questions? Post a comment.

No real update
I've been so busy with things in real life, that I've neglected this website.
But today, I have maintanenced the forum a bit so not only does it not have as many bugs, subforums are now supported, so I can divide up the news just like tags on a blog. This may enable some new things on this website, so check back later.
Additionally, I have re-uploaded another powerpoint 2007 theme that you may want to try: http://www.uniquegeeks.net/index/downloads/fileinfo.aspx?fid=17&cpid=1
I don't have a screenshot yet, but I'll work on that.
Check back next week for another update.

Plugin system works for a larger range of formats now
I am very hesitant to release this just yet due to lack of testing, but converting was somehow broken in v2.5, and I just had to release something. The conversion is fixed, and plugins are now updated. This is no longer the "NDS Save Converter", but the "Generic Save Converter that happens to have NDS formats built in". (Maybe I should just stick with the old name?) ANyway. Plugins no longer go in the /Plugins folder, but in the /Plugins/Format folder. Example, included is a GBA plugin in /Plugins/GBA. Developers can put plugins into folders like this, so they can use the converter to convert ANY kind of save file that has a raw format that comes in powers of two (256KB, 512KB, etc) and with a size less than 128MB.

This time around, there isn't a new program, but an updates for current ones.
This Sunday, either the NDS Save Converter will be updated for batch conversion, or the Image Format Converter will be able to add transparancy to images that support it.
Check back later to find out.

First weekly update in a hopeful series of weekly updates.
I have released a new program: Image Format Converter (well, based on an older one that I lost the source to). It supports converting image files between the formats Bitmap, PNG, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, and WMF. This package has both a redistributable version and an MSI installer for those who prefer that.

And some other stuff
The server change was a success, and the website has been updated to be more stable, and support more features (like the new downloads system).
Additionally, the website has a new purpose now, and may have another one in the future (I'm still working on it, and don't want to announce it until I have content to support it).
Just look at the top of the page - right underneath UniqueGeeks.Net.
The system is still being constructed, so just check back later for more updates. I would like to say weekly updates, but I can't guarentee that yet. So, that was just a preview of what is in store.
[Edit] It seems that data was slightly corrupted moving over to this new server. All line breaks in posts are now gone (editing them back in will fix it, though), in addition to some profile values (including signatures, birthdays, and even photos [only applicable to two users other than me. Contact me if you would like them back, because I have them in a backup I cannot restore]).

More awesomeness
Noel Dickover is the designer of the pumpkin shown above.
Quote from Noel: For R2-D2, because I didn't have a pattern, I needed to have pictures of anatomically accurate R2-D2 pictures. I found these both with the Weta Sideshow R2-D2 sculpture and with some videos of fully functional R2-D2 units from the R2-D2 Maker's group. Then its a matter of taking the "real" R2-D2 and transposing it to the pumpkin you have. In my case, I might have made the top a tad to big, but overall, I was able to get all the elements into the pumpkin... I also used a sewing tape measure to keep certain distances internally consistent.

Here's an awesomely creative example of being resourceful
A Star Wars fan built a Stormtrooper helmet out of two milk jugs. Yes, that helmet in the picture was made with those plastic milk gallons in your fridge right now.
The full instructions are available over on his site but the gist of it was rather simple. He used an exacto knife to cut out specific pieces of the milk jug and a hot glue gun to put it all together. Some spray paint and a sharpie finished up the project, leaving him with the best bang for your buck Star Wars helmet available. I wonder how he would make Darth Vader. [ Filth Wizardry]
